Umm Atiya reported,

We were forbidden to mourn for any deceased person beyond three days, except for a husband, for whom the period was four months and ten days. During that time we were not to apply kohl, wear perfume, or put on dyed garments. However, a woman was permitted, when one of us bathed after her menstrual period, to use a small amount of qust and azfar.
