Her husband divorced her during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and he had given her only a meager amount for her maintenance. When she saw this, she said, "By Allah, I will inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If I am entitled to maintenance, I will take what suffices me, and if I am not entitled to any maintenance, I will not take anything from him."She continued, "I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, 'You are entitled to neither maintenance nor lodging.'"
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا عبد العزيز يعني ابن أبي حازم وقال قتيبة أيضا حدثنا يعقوب يعني ابن عبد الرحمن القاري كليهما عن أبي حازم عن أبي سلمة
أنه طلقها زوجها في عهد النبي ﷺ وكان أنفق عليها نفقة دون فلما رأت ذلك قالت والله لأعلمن رسول الله ﷺ فإن كان لي نفقة أخذت الذي يصلحني وإن لم تكن لي نفقة لم آخذ منه شيئا قالت فذكرت ذلك لرسول الله ﷺ فقال لا نفقة لك ولا سكنى
