Aisha said, "After the verse 'You may defer any of them you wish, and take to yourself any you wish' [Ahzab 33:51] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would ask our permission whenever it was the turn of one of us."Muazah asked her, "And what would you say to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he asked your permission?"Aisha replied, "I would say, if the choice is mine, I would not prefer anyone over myself."
