We attended the funeral of Maymuna, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, at Sarif together with Ibn Abbas. Ibn Abbas said, "This is the wife of the Prophet ﷺ. When you lift her bier, do not shake it or jolt it. Be gentle. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had nine wives, and he used to divide his time among eight of them but not allot any turn to one."Ata said, "The one to whom he did not allot a turn was Safiya bint Huyayy bin Akhtab."

حضرنا مع ابن عباس جنازة ميمونة زوج النبي ﷺ بسرف فقال ابن عباس هذه زوج النبي ﷺ فإذا رفعتم نعشها فلا تزعزعوا ولا تزلزلوا وارفقوا فإنه كان عند رسول الله ﷺ تسع فكان يقسم لثمان ولا يقسم لواحدة قال عطاء التي لا يقسم لها صفية بنت حيي بن أخطب
