I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when two men came to him disputing over a piece of land. One of them said, "Messenger of Allah, this man seized my land in the days of ignorance." He was Imru al-Qays bin Abis al-Kindi, and his opponent was Rabia bin Abdan.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Do you have evidence?"He replied, "I have no evidence."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then his oath."He said, "In that case, he will take it."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "You have nothing but that."When the man stood up to swear, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wrongfully seizes a piece of land will meet Allah while He is angry with him."Ishaq said in his narration, "Rabia bin Aydan."
و حدثني زهير بن حرب وإسحق بن إبراهيم جميعا عن أبي الوليد قال زهير حدثنا هشام بن عبد الملك حدثنا أبو عوانة عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن علقمة بن وائل
كنت عند رسول الله ﷺ فأتاه رجلان يختصمان في أرض فقال أحدهما إن هذا انتزى على أرضي يا رسول الله في الجاهلية وهو امرؤ القيس بن عابس الكندي وخصمه ربيعة بن عبدان قال بينتك قال ليس لي بينة قال يمينه قال إذن يذهب بها قال ليس لك إلا ذاك قال فلما قام ليحلف قال رسول الله ﷺ من اقتطع أرضا ظالما لقي الله وهو عليه غضبان قال إسحق في روايته ربيعة بن عيدان
