The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out on the campaign against Khaybar. We prayed the dawn prayer near it while it was still dark, then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ mounted, and Abu Talha mounted, and I rode behind Abu Talha. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ urged his mount through the narrow paths of Khaybar, and my knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ. The lower garment slipped back from the thigh of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and I could see the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ.When he entered the village, he said, "Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon a people's territory, "then evil is the morning of those who were warned" [Saffat 37:177]." He said it three times.The people had gone out to their work, and they cried out, "Muhammad, by Allah!" Abdul-Aziz said, and some of our companions said, "Muhammad and his army!"He said, We took it by force, and the captives were gathered. Dihya came and said, "Messenger of Allah, give me a slave girl from the captives."He said, "Go and take a slave girl."So he took Safiya bint Huyayy. Then a man came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and said, "Prophet of Allah, you have given Dihya Safiya bint Huyayy, the chieftainess of Qurayza and Nadir. She is suitable for none but you."He said, "Call him to bring her."So he brought her, and when the Prophet ﷺ looked at her, he said, "Take a slave girl from the captives other than her."He freed her and married her. Thabit asked him, "Abu Hamza, what did he give her as her dowry?"He replied, "Herself. He freed her and married her."Along the way, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him and brought her to him at night, so the Prophet ﷺ became a bridegroom by morning. He said, "Whoever has something, let him bring it."He spread out a leather mat. One man came with dried curd, another came with dates, and another came with clarified butter, and they mixed them together into a sweet dish called hays. That was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
حدثني زهير بن حرب حدثنا إسمعيل يعني ابن علية عن عبد العزيز
أن رسول الله ﷺ غزا خيبر قال فصلينا عندها صلاة الغداة بغلس فركب نبي الله ﷺ وركب أبو طلحة وأنا رديف أبي طلحة فأجرى نبي الله ﷺ في زقاق خيبر وإن ركبتي لتمس فخذ نبي الله ﷺ وانحسر الإزار عن فخذ نبي الله ﷺ فإني لأرى بياض فخذ نبي الله ﷺ فلما دخل القرية قال الله أكبر خربت خيبر إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم {فساء صباح المنذرين} قالها ثلاث مرات قال وقد خرج القوم إلى أعمالهم فقالوا محمد والله قال عبد العزيز وقال بعض أصحابنا محمد والخميس قال وأصبناها عنوة وجمع السبي فجاءه دحية فقال يا رسول الله أعطني جارية من السبي فقال اذهب فخذ جارية فأخذ صفية بنت حيي فجاء رجل إلى نبي الله ﷺ فقال يا نبي الله أعطيت دحية صفية بنت حيي سيد قريظة والنضير ما تصلح إلا لك قال ادعوه بها قال فجاء بها فلما نظر إليها النبي ﷺ قال خذ جارية من السبي غيرها قال وأعتقها وتزوجها فقال له ثابت يا أبا حمزة ما أصدقها قال نفسها أعتقها وتزوجها حتى إذا كان بالطريق جهزتها له أم سليم فأهدتها له من الليل فأصبح النبي ﷺ عروسا فقال من كان عنده شيء فليجئ به قال وبسط نطعا قال فجعل الرجل يجيء بالأقط وجعل الرجل يجيء بالتمر وجعل الرجل يجيء بالسمن فحاسوا حيسا فكانت وليمة رسول الله ﷺ
