Hardship and severe distress struck the people of Madinah, so a man came to Abu Saeed Khudri and said to him, "I have a large family, and severe hardship has befallen us. I want to move my family to some part of the countryside."Abu Saeed replied, "Do not do that. Stay in Madinah. We went out with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ," and I think he said, "until we arrived at Usfan, where he stayed for several nights. The people said, 'By Allah, we are accomplishing nothing being here, and our families are left behind unprotected. We do not feel safe for them.'This reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, 'What is this that has reached me of your talk? I do not know how he said it, By the One I swear by,' or 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, I have resolved,' or 'if you wish,' I do not know which of the two he said, 'I will order my she-camel to be saddled, then I will not untie a single knot from her until I reach Madinah.'Then he said, 'O Allah, Ibrahim made Makkah sacred and declared it a sanctuary, and I declare Madinah a sanctuary, between its two mountain passes. No blood is to be shed in it, no weapon is to be carried in it for fighting, and no tree is to have its leaves beaten down except for fodder. O Allah, bless us in our Madinah. O Allah, bless us in our saa. O Allah, bless us in our mudd. O Allah, bless us in our saa. O Allah, bless us in our mudd. O Allah, bless us in our Madinah. O Allah, place with the blessing two more blessings. By the One in whose hand is my soul, there is not a mountain pass or a path leading into Madinah but upon it are two angels guarding it until you return to it.'Then he said to the people, 'Set off,' so we set off and headed back to Madinah. By the One we swear by," or "by whom one swears," the doubt is from Hammad, "we had not yet set down our saddles when we entered Madinah before the Banu Abdullah bin Ghatafan raided us, though nothing had stirred them up before that."
حدثنا حماد بن إسمعيل ابن علية حدثنا أبي عن وهيب عن يحيى بن أبي إسحق أنه حدث
أنه أصابهم بالمدينة جهد وشدة وأنه أتى أبا سعيد الخدري فقال له إني كثير العيال وقد أصابتنا شدة فأردت أن أنقل عيالي إلى بعض الريف فقال أبو سعيد لا تفعل الزم المدينة فإنا خرجنا مع نبي الله ﷺ أظن أنه قال حتى قدمنا عسفان فأقام بها ليالي فقال الناس والله ما نحن ها هنا في شيء وإن عيالنا لخلوف ما نأمن عليهم فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فقال ما هذا الذي بلغني من حديثكم ما أدري كيف قال والذي أحلف به أو والذي نفسي بيده لقد هممت أو إن شئتم لا أدري أيتهما قال لآمرن بناقتي ترحل ثم لا أحل لها عقدة حتى أقدم المدينة وقال اللهم إن إبراهيم حرم مكة فجعلها حرما وإني حرمت المدينة حراما ما بين مأزميها أن لا يهراق فيها دم ولا يحمل فيها سلاح لقتال ولا تخبط فيها شجرة إلا لعلف اللهم بارك لنا في مدينتنا اللهم بارك لنا في صاعنا اللهم بارك لنا في مدنا اللهم بارك لنا في صاعنا اللهم بارك لنا في مدنا اللهم بارك لنا في مدينتنا اللهم اجعل مع البركة بركتين والذي نفسي بيده ما من المدينة شعب ولا نقب إلا عليه ملكان يحرسانها حتى تقدموا إليها ثم قال للناس ارتحلوا فارتحلنا فأقبلنا إلى المدينة فوالذي نحلف به أو يحلف به الشك من حماد ما وضعنا رحالنا حين دخلنا المدينة حتى أغار علينا بنو عبد الله بن غطفان وما يهيجهم قبل ذلك شيء
