Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "There is no migration after the conquest, but rather jihad and intention. So when you are called to march out, march out."He also said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "Allah made this city sacred on the day He created the heavens and the earth. It is therefore sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was not made lawful for anyone before me, nor was it made lawful for me except for a single hour of the day. It is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny shrubs are not to be cut, its game is not to be disturbed, lost property within it is not to be picked up except by one who will announce it publicly, and its fresh grass is not to be uprooted."Abbas said, "Messenger of Allah, except for idhkhir grass, for it is used by their blacksmiths and in their houses."He replied, "Except for idhkhir."
