Masruq reported,

I heard Ayesha, from behind the curtain, clapping her hands and saying, "I used to twist the garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my own hands. Then he would send them off, and he would not abstain from anything that a person in the state of Muharram abstains from, until his sacrificial animal was slaughtered."
