He was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he departed from Arafah. When he reached the mountain pass, he made his mount kneel down and went to relieve himself. When he returned, I poured water for him from the water-skin and he performed ablution. Then he mounted and proceeded to Muzdalifa, where he combined the Maghrib and Isha prayers.
حدثنا عبد بن حميد أخبرنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن عطاء مولى ابن سباع
كان رديف رسول الله ﷺ حين أفاض من عرفة فلما جاء الشعب أناخ راحلته ثم ذهب إلى الغائط فلما رجع صببت عليه من الإداوة فتوضأ ثم ركب ثم أتى المزدلفة فجمع بها بين المغرب والعشاء
