Umar kissed the Black Stone and said, "I am kissing you, and I know full well that you are only a stone, but I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissing you."
Muslim also related it from Muqaddami, from Hammad, from Ayub, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, that Umar kissed the Black Stone. He said, there is disagreement about it going back to Ayub and to Hammad bin Zayd. Musaddad and Hawdi connected it, transmitting it from Hammad with a complete chain. But Sulayman, Abu Rabi, and Arim differed from them, transmitting it from Hammad as a mursal narration. Ibn Ulaya said, transmitting from Ayub, we confirm this narration about Umar without Nafi in it, and it is sahih from the hadith of Suwayd bin Ghafla, Abbas bin Rabia, and Ibn Sarjis, from Umar.
