Ibn Umar and I were leaning against the chamber of Ayesha, and we could hear her brushing her teeth with the siwak.I said, "Abu Abdul-Rahman, did the Prophet ﷺ perform Umrah in Rajab?"He replied, "Yes."So I said to Ayesha, "Mother, do you not hear what Abu Abdul-Rahman is saying?"She asked, "What is he saying?"I said, "He says the Prophet ﷺ performed Umrah in Rajab."She said, "May Allah forgive Abu Abdul-Rahman. By my life, he never performed Umrah in Rajab, and he never performed any Umrah except that Ibn Umar was with him."Ibn Umar was listening, yet he said neither no nor yes. He remained silent.
و حدثنا هارون بن عبد الله أخبرنا محمد بن بكر البرساني أخبرنا ابن جريج قال سمعت عطاء يخبر قال أخبرني
كنت أنا وابن عمر مستندين إلى حجرة عائشة وإنا لنسمع ضربها بالسواك تستن قال فقلت يا أبا عبد الرحمن اعتمر النبي ﷺ في رجب قال نعم فقلت لعائشة أي أمتاه ألا تسمعين ما يقول أبو عبد الرحمن قالت وما يقول قلت يقول اعتمر النبي ﷺ في رجب فقالت يغفر الله لأبي عبد الرحمن لعمري ما اعتمر في رجب وما اعتمر من عمرة إلا وإنه لمعه قال وابن عمر يسمع فما قال لا ولا نعم سكت
