From the Prophet ﷺ.Hajjaj bin al-Shair also narrated this to me, saying Abdul-Samad reported to us, saying my father narrated to me, saying Dawud (meaning Ibn Abu Hind) narrated to us, saying Asim narrated to us, from Safwan bin Mihraz, from Abu Musa, from the Prophet ﷺ.Hasan bin Ali al-Hulwani also narrated to me, saying Abdul-Samad reported to us, saying Shuba informed us, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, from Rabi bin Harash, from Abu Musa, from the Prophet ﷺ, with this same hadith, except that in the narration of Iyad al-Ashari he said, "He is not one of us," and did not say, "I am free of him."

Muslim also reported the hadith of Abdul-Samad bin Abdul-Warith, from Shubah, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, from Rubai, from Abu Musa, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "He is not one of us who shaves his head, wails, or tears his clothes in grief."He said, "No one but Abdul-Samad related this from Shubah as a raised hadith, and the companions of Shubah disagree with him, holding that it is transmitted from him as a stopped report."
I say, the hadith is sahih through the chains that Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, presented before this chain, and this chain is apparently a mawquf report, as Hafiz Daraqutni and Qadi Iyad have stated.Perhaps Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, and Allah knows best, mentioned it in order to point out its flaw, or he was lenient about it because it occurs among the corroborating narrations.
