This verse was revealed concerning me, "Whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head must compensate by fasting, charity, or sacrifice" [Baqarah 2:196].He said, "I came to him, and he said, 'Come closer.' So I drew near. He said again, 'Come closer.' So I drew nearer. Then the Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Are the lice troubling you?'"Ibn Awn said, "I think he replied, 'Yes.'"He said, "So he commanded me to offer compensation by fasting, charity, or sacrifice, whichever was easiest."
و حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن ابن عون عن مجاهد عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
في أنزلت هذه الآية {فمن كان منكم مريضا أو به أذى من رأسه ففدية من صيام أو صدقة أو نسك} قال فأتيته فقال ادنه فدنوت فقال ادنه فدنوت فقال ﷺ أيؤذيك هوامك قال ابن عون وأظنه قال نعم قال فأمرني بفدية من صيام أو صدقة أو نسك ما تيسر
