Zirr bin Hubaysh reported,

I asked Ubayy bin Kaab , "Your brother Ibn Masud says that whoever stands in prayer throughout the year will attain Laylat al-Qadr."Ubayy replied, "May Allah have mercy on him. He only meant that people should not rely on a single night. He knew perfectly well that it falls in Ramadan, that it is in the last ten nights, and that it is the twenty-seventh night." Then he swore, without adding any qualification, that it is the twenty-seventh night.So I asked, "On what do you base that, Abu Munzir?"He answered, "On the sign, or the token, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us about, that the sun rises that morning with no rays."

و حدثنا محمد بن حاتم وابن أبي عمر كلاهما عن ابن عيينة قال ابن حاتم حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة

عن عبدة وعاصم بن أبي النجود سمعا زر بن حبيش يقولا

سألت أبي بن كعب رضي الله عنه فقلت إن أخاك ابن مسعود يقول من يقم الحول يصب ليلة القدر فقال رحمه الله أراد أن لا يتكل الناس أما إنه قد علم أنها في رمضان وأنها في العشر الأواخر وأنها ليلة سبع وعشرين ثم حلف لا يستثني أنها ليلة سبع وعشرين فقلت بأي شيء تقول ذلك يا أبا المنذر قال بالعلامة أو بالآية التي أخبرنا رسول الله ﷺ أنها تطلع يومئذ لا شعاع لها
