The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not single out the night of Friday for prayer from among the nights, and do not single out the day of Friday for fasting from among the days, unless it falls within a fast that one of you regularly observes."
Muslim narrated the hadith of Husayn, from Zaida, from Hisham, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, "Do not single out Friday for fasting, or its night for standing in prayer."He said, This is not sahih from Abu Hurairah. Rather, Ibn Sirin narrated it from Abu Darda in a long story involving Salman and Abu Darda, and Abu Hisham and others narrated it likewise. As for everyone who reported it as being from Abu Hurairah, it was actually Ibn Sirin who narrated it, and this has been attributed to Awf, and also attributed to Ibn Uyayna from Ayub, but it is not sahih from either of them.
