Sulayman bin Yasar reported,
He asked Umm Salama 
about a man who wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity, whether he may fast.She replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of major ritual impurity, not from a wet dream, and then fast."
