We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. When the sun had set, he said to a man, "Get down and prepare a drink for us by mixing it."The man said, "Messenger of Allah, what if you waited until evening?"He said, "Get down and prepare a drink for us."The man said, "It is still daytime."So he got down and prepared the drink, and the Prophet drank it. Then he said, "When you see night approaching from this direction," and he pointed with his hand toward the east, "then the fasting person has broken his fast."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا علي بن مسهر وعباد بن العوام عن الشيباني
كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في سفر فلما غابت الشمس قال لرجل انزل فاجدح لنا فقال يا رسول الله لو أمسيت قال انزل فاجدح لنا قال إن علينا نهارا فنزل فجدح له فشرب ثم قال إذا رأيتم الليل قد أقبل من ها هنا وأشار بيده نحو المشرق فقد أفطر الصائم
