Abu Bakhtari reported,
We sighted the new moon of Ramadan while we were at Dhat Irq, so we sent a man to Ibn Abbas 
to ask him about it.Ibn Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah has extended it until it is sighted, so if it is obscured from you, then complete the count.'"

أبا البختري قال
أهللنا رمضان ونحن بذات عرق فأرسلنا رجلا إلى ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما يسأله فقال ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال رسول الله ﷺ إن الله قد أمده لرؤيته فإن أغمي عليكم فأكملوا العدة
