Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was distributing some spoils, Dhul-Khuwaysirah, a man from the tribe of Banu Tamim, came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, be just."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Woe to you. Who would be just if I am not just? I would be ruined and lost if I were not just."Umar bin Khattab said, "Messenger of Allah, give me permission to strike off his neck."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave him. He has companions next to whose prayer one of you would consider his own prayer insignificant, and next to whose fasting he would consider his own fasting insignificant. They recite the Quran, but it does not pass beyond their throats. They will pass through Islam as an arrow passes through its prey. One looks at its iron tip and finds nothing on it, then looks at its shaft and finds nothing on it, then looks at its arrow-stick and finds nothing on it, then looks at its feathers and finds nothing on them, the arrow having passed clean through the stomach contents and blood. Their sign is a black man, one of his upper arms like a woman's breast, or like a piece of flesh that quivers. They will appear at a time of division among the people."Abu Saeed said, "I bear witness that I heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I bear witness that Ali bin Abu Talib fought them while I was with him. He ordered a search for that man, and he was sought out and found and brought forth, until I looked at him exactly matching the description the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had given."

حدثني أبو الطاهر أخبرنا عبد الله بن وهب أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب أخبرني أبو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن عن أبي سعيد الخدري ح و حدثني حرملة بن يحيى وأحمد بن عبد الرحمن الفهري قالا أخبرنا ابن وهب أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب أخبرني أبو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن والضحاك الهمداني أن

أبا سعيد الخدري قال

بينا نحن عند رسول الله ﷺ وهو يقسم قسما أتاه ذو الخويصرة وهو رجل من بني تميم فقال يا رسول الله اعدل قال رسول الله ﷺ ويلك ومن يعدل إن لم أعدل قد خبت وخسرت إن لم أعدل فقال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يا رسول الله ائذن لي فيه أضرب عنقه قال رسول الله ﷺ دعه فإن له أصحابا يحقر أحدكم صلاته مع صلاتهم وصيامه مع صيامهم يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز تراقيهم يمرقون من الإسلام كما يمرق السهم من الرمية ينظر إلى نصله فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر إلى رصافه فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر إلى نضيه فلا يوجد فيه شيء وهو القدح ثم ينظر إلى قذذه فلا يوجد فيه شيء سبق الفرث والدم آيتهم رجل أسود إحدى عضديه مثل ثدي المرأة أو مثل البضعة تتدردر يخرجون على حين فرقة من الناس قال أبو سعيد فأشهد أني سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ وأشهد أن علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه قاتلهم وأنا معه فأمر بذلك الرجل فالتمس فوجد فأتي به حتى نظرت إليه على نعت رسول الله ﷺ الذي نعت
