The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Fire, then turned away and grimaced. Then he said, "Guard yourselves against the Fire." He turned away and grimaced again, until we thought he was actually looking at it. Then he said, "Guard yourselves against the Fire, even with half a date, and whoever cannot find that, then with a kind word."Abu Kurayb did not mention the phrase "as though," and he said, Abu Muawiya narrated to us, Amash narrated to us.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وأبو كريب قالا حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن عمرو بن مرة عن خيثمة
ذكر رسول الله ﷺ النار فأعرض وأشاح ثم قال اتقوا النار ثم أعرض وأشاح حتى ظننا أنه كأنما ينظر إليها ثم قال اتقوا النار ولو بشق تمرة فمن لم يجد فبكلمة طيبة ولم يذكر أبو كريب كأنما وقال حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش
