The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every Muslim must give charity."Someone asked, "What if he finds nothing to give?"He replied, "Let him work with his hands to benefit himself and give in charity."The questioner asked, "What if he is unable to do that?"He replied, "Let him help someone in need who is distressed."The questioner asked, "What if he cannot do that?"He replied, "Let him enjoin what is right, or what is good."The questioner asked, "What if he does not do that?"He replied, "Let him refrain from evil, for that too is charity."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا أبو أسامة عن شعبة
عن النبي ﷺ قال على كل مسلم صدقة قيل أرأيت إن لم يجد قال يعتمل بيديه فينفع نفسه ويتصدق قال قيل أرأيت إن لم يستطع قال يعين ذا الحاجة الملهوف قال قيل له أرأيت إن لم يستطع قال يأمر بالمعروف أو الخير قال أرأيت إن لم يفعل قال يمسك عن الشر فإنها صدقة
