Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no owner of a hoard who does not pay its zakat except that it will be heated for him in the fire of Hell. Plates will be made of it, and his sides and forehead will be branded with them, until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years. Then he will see his path, either to Paradise or to the Fire. There is no owner of camels who does not pay their zakat except that he will be laid flat on his face on a smooth, level plain, and they will trample him, in their fullest number, with their hooves. Whenever the last of them passes over him, the first of them will be returned to him, until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years. Then he will see his path, either to Paradise or to the Fire. There is no owner of sheep who does not pay their zakat except that he will be laid flat on his face on a smooth, level plain, and they will trample him with their hooves and gore him with their horns, in their fullest number. None among them will be twisted-horned or hornless. Whenever the last of them passes over him, the first of them will be returned to him, until Allah judges between His servants on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years of what you count. Then he will see his path, either to Paradise or to the Fire."Suhayl said, "I do not know whether he mentioned cattle or not."They asked, "And what about horses, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Horses, in their forelocks," or he said, "Horses have good tied to their forelocks." Suhayl said, "I am uncertain." "Until the Day of Resurrection. Horses are of three kinds. For one man they are a reward, for another they are a covering, and for another they are a burden. As for the one for whom they are a reward, it is the man who keeps them for the cause of Allah and prepares them for it. Nothing disappears into their bellies except that Allah writes a reward for him on account of it. If he were to graze them in a meadow, they would eat nothing without Allah writing for him a reward on its account. If he were to give them to drink from a river, he would have a reward for every drop that disappears into their bellies." He even mentioned the reward in their urine and dung. "If they were to gallop a stretch or two, every step they take would be written for him as a reward. As for the one for whom they are a covering, it is the man who keeps them out of dignity and adornment, but does not forget the right of their backs and their bellies in times of hardship and ease.As for the one for whom they are a burden, it is the one who keeps them out of arrogance, vanity, ostentation, and showing off to people. That is the one for whom they are a burden."They asked, "And what about donkeys, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Allah has not revealed to me anything concerning them except this comprehensive, unique verse, 'So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it' [Zalzalah 99:7–8]."
