The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the funeral prayer over a deceased person, and I memorized his supplication as he said, "O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him, honor his place of rest and make spacious his entry, wash him with water, snow, and hail, cleanse him of his sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth, give him in exchange a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse, admit him into Paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave," or "from the punishment of the Fire."He said, "I wished that I were that deceased person."He said, And Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr also narrated to me from his father, from Awf bin Malik, from the Prophet ﷺ, a hadith similar to this one as well.
