A Jewish woman came to Ayesha asking her for charity, and she said, "May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave."Ayesha said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, are people punished in their graves?'"Amra said that Ayesha reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I seek refuge in Allah from that.'Then one morning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode out on a mount, and the sun was eclipsed."Ayesha continued, "I went out among a group of women between the chambers in the mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from his ride and came to the place where he usually prayed. He stood, and the people stood behind him."Ayesha said, "He stood for a long time, then bowed, and his bowing was lengthy. Then he rose and stood for a long time, though shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed, and his bowing was lengthy, though shorter than the first bowing. Then he rose, and by then the sun had cleared.He said, 'I have seen you being tested in your graves like the trial of the Dajjal.'"Amra said, "I heard Ayesha say, 'After that, I would always hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking refuge from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.'"
و حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة القعنبي حدثنا سليمان يعني ابن بلال عن يحيى
أن يهودية أتت عائشة تسألها فقالت أعاذك الله من عذاب القبر قالت عائشة فقلت يا رسول الله يعذب الناس في القبور قالت عمرة فقالت عائشة قال رسول الله ﷺ عائذا بالله ثم ركب رسول الله ﷺ ذات غداة مركبا فخسفت الشمس قالت عائشة فخرجت في نسوة بين ظهري الحجر في المسجد فأتى رسول الله ﷺ من مركبه حتى انتهى إلى مصلاه الذي كان يصلي فيه فقام وقام الناس وراءه قالت عائشة فقام قياما طويلا ثم ركع فركع ركوعا طويلا ثم رفع فقام قياما طويلا وهو دون القيام الأول ثم ركع فركع ركوعا طويلا وهو دون ذلك الركوع ثم رفع وقد تجلت الشمس فقال إني قد رأيتكم تفتنون في القبور كفتنة الدجال قالت عمرة فسمعت عائشة تقول فكنت أسمع رسول الله ﷺ بعد ذلك يتعوذ من عذاب النار وعذاب القبر
