When Ibn Zubayr first received the pledge of allegiance, Ibn Abbas sent word to him that no call to prayer used to be made for the prayer on the day of Eid al-Fitr, so he should not have it called. So Ibn Zubayr did not have it called on that day of his.Along with that, Ibn Abbas sent word to him that the sermon comes only after the prayer, and that this was indeed the practice. So Ibn Zubayr prayed before the sermon.
و حدثني محمد بن رافع حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا ابن جريج
أن ابن عباس أرسل إلى ابن الزبير أول ما بويع له أنه لم يكن يؤذن للصلاة يوم الفطر فلا تؤذن لها قال فلم يؤذن لها ابن الزبير يومه وأرسل إليه مع ذلك إنما الخطبة بعد الصلاة وإن ذلك قد كان يفعل قال فصلى ابن الزبير قبل الخطبة
