I heard him say that the Prophet ﷺ stood on the day of Eid al-Fitr and began with the prayer before the sermon. Then he addressed the people. When the Prophet of Allah ﷺ finished, he came down and went over to the women and reminded them, while leaning on the hand of Bilal. Bilal was spreading out his garment, and the women were dropping charity into it.I asked Ata, "Was this the zakat of the day of Fitr?"He replied, "No, rather it was charity they were giving at that moment. A woman would toss in her ring, and others would toss in their items, and others would toss in theirs."I asked Ata, "Is it an obligation upon the imam today to go to the women when he finishes and remind them?"He answered, "Yes, by my life, that is indeed an obligation upon them. Why would they not do so?"
و حدثنا إسحق بن إبراهيم ومحمد بن رافع ابن رافع حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا ابن جريج أخبرني عطاء
سمعته يقول إن النبي ﷺ قام يوم الفطر فصلى فبدأ بالصلاة قبل الخطبة ثم خطب الناس فلما فرغ نبي الله ﷺ نزل وأتى النساء فذكرهن وهو يتوكأ على يد بلال وبلال باسط ثوبه يلقين النساء صدقة قلت لعطاء زكاة يوم الفطر قال لا ولكن صدقة يتصدقن بها حينئذ تلقي المرأة فتخها ويلقين ويلقين قلت لعطاء أحقا على الإمام الآن أن يأتي النساء حين يفرغ فيذكرهن قال إي لعمري إن ذلك لحق عليهم وما لهم لا يفعلون ذلك
