Sulayk al-Ghatafani came on Friday while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon, and he sat down. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Sulayk, stand up and pray two brief units of prayer."Then he said, "When one of you comes on Friday while the imam is giving the sermon, let him pray two units of prayer and keep them brief."
و حدثنا إسحق بن إبراهيم وعلي بن خشرم كلاهما عن عيسى بن يونس قال ابن خشرم أخبرنا عيسى عن الأعمش عن أبي سفيان
جاء سليك الغطفاني يوم الجمعة ورسول الله ﷺ يخطب فجلس فقال له يا سليك قم فاركع ركعتين وتجوز فيهما ثم قال إذا جاء أحدكم يوم الجمعة والإمام يخطب فليركع ركعتين وليتجوز فيهما
Both of them (Bukhari and Muslim) narrated together from him the hadith of Shubah from Amr from Jabir, "When one of you comes while the imam is delivering the sermon."He said, Rawh bin Qasim bin Yazee followed him in this narration from him. It was narrated by Ibn Jurayj, Hammad bin Zayd, Ibn Uyayna, Ayub, Habib Abu Yahya, and Warqa, from Amr, that a man entered the masjid, and he was asked, "Have you prayed?"
I say, the narration that the Hafiz, may Allah have mercy on him, referred to is found in Sunan Daraqutni, vol. 2, p. 15, and in its chain is Yahya bin Ghaylan, whom the Hafiz described in Taqrib as "acceptable." It is narrated from him by Yahya, from Abdullah bin Bazi.Hafiz Dhahabi said in Mizan, "Daraqutni said, 'Weak in hadith, but not abandoned.'" Ibn Adi said, "He is not reliable as a source, and he was the judge of Tustar. Most of his hadiths are not well preserved."
