The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The fornicator does not commit fornication while he is a believer, the thief does not steal while he is a believer, and the drinker of wine does not drink it while he is a believer."Ibn Shihab said, Abdul-Malik bin Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman informed me that Abu Bakr used to narrate these sayings to them from Abu Hurairah, then he would say, "Abu Hurairah used to add along with them, 'And no one seizes valuable plunder, toward which people lift their eyes, while he is a believer at the time he seizes it.'"
حدثني حرملة بن يحيى بن عبد الله بن عمران التجيبي أنبأنا ابن وهب قال أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب قال سمعت أبا سلمة بن عبد الرحمن وسعيد بن المسيب يقولان قال
إن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمن ولا يسرق السارق حين يسرق وهو مؤمن ولا يشرب الخمر حين يشربها وهو مؤمن قال ابن شهاب فأخبرني عبد الملك بن أبي بكر بن عبد الرحمن أن أبا بكر كان يحدثهم هؤلاء عن أبي هريرة ثم يقولا وكان أبو هريرة يلحق معهن ولا ينتهب نهبة ذات شرف يرفع الناس إليه فيها أبصارهم حين ينتهبها وهو مؤمن
