The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to address the people, praising Allah and extolling Him as He deserves, then he would say, "Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. The best of speech is the Book of Allah."Then he continued the hadith just as in the narration of Thaqafi.
و حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن جعفر عن أبيه
كان رسول الله ﷺ يخطب الناس يحمد الله ويثني عليه بما هو أهله ثم يقول من يهده الله فلا مضل له ومن يضلل فلا هادي له وخير الحديث كتاب الله ثم ساق الحديث بمثل حديث الثقفي
