The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said, "I shall recite to you a third of the Quran." Then he recited, "Say, He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge" [Ikhlas 112:1–2], until he completed it.
و حدثنا واصل بن عبد الأعلى حدثنا ابن فضيل عن بشير أبي إسمعيل عن أبي حازم
خرج إلينا رسول الله ﷺ فقال أقرأ عليكم ثلث القرآن فقرأ قل هو الله أحد الله الصمد حتى ختمها
