He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying. And Muhammad bin Abbad narrated to us, and the wording is his, Sufyan narrated to us, Amr narrated to us, from Tawus, from Ibn Umar. And Zuhri narrated to us, from Salim, from his father, that a man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the night prayer.He replied, "Two by two, and when you fear the approach of dawn, pray one rakah as witr."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعمرو الناقد وزهير بن حرب قال زهير حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري
سمع النبي ﷺ يقول ح و حدثنا محمد بن عباد واللفظ له حدثنا سفيان حدثنا عمرو عن طاوس عن ابن عمر ح و حدثنا الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه أن رجلا سأل النبي ﷺ عن صلاة الليل فقال مثنى مثنى فإذا خشيت الصبح فأوتر بركعة
