A man said to Ibn Abbas, "The prayer!" Ibn Abbas remained silent. The man said again, "The prayer!" He remained silent. The man said once more, "The prayer!" He remained silent. Then Ibn Abbas said, "May you lose your mother! Are you teaching us about the prayer? We used to combine two prayers during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
و حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا وكيع حدثنا عمران بن حدير
قال رجل لابن عباس الصلاة فسكت ثم قال الصلاة فسكت ثم قال الصلاة فسكت ثم قال لا أم لك أتعلمنا بالصلاة وكنا نجمع بين الصلاتين على عهد رسول الله ﷺ
