I fell ill, and Ibn Umar came to visit me. I asked him about offering voluntary prayers while traveling.He replied, "I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on journeys, and I never saw him offer voluntary prayers. Had I been one to offer them, I would have completed the obligatory prayers in full. Allah Almighty has said, 'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a fine example to follow' [Ahzab 33:21]."

مرضت مرضا فجاء ابن عمر يعودني قال وسألته عن السبحة في السفر فقال صحبت رسول الله ﷺ في السفر فما رأيته يسبح ولو كنت مسبحا لأتممت وقد قال الله تعالى {لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة}
