I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ... and he related the hadith with the same meaning as the hadith of Yunus, except that he said, "A man asked, 'Where is Malik bin Dukhshun?'" or "Dukhayshin."He added in the hadith, Mahmud said, I narrated this hadith to a group of people, among whom was Abu Ayub al-Ansari, who said, "I do not think the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said what you have reported."He said, So I swore that if I returned to Itban I would ask him about it. So I went back to him and found him to be a very old man who had lost his sight, serving as the imam of his people. I sat down beside him and asked him about this hadith, and he narrated it to me just as he had narrated it the first time.Zuhri said, Then after that, obligations and matters were revealed by which we consider the matter to have been settled. So whoever is able not to be deceived, let him not be deceived.
