I said to Abdullah bin Samit, "On Fridays we pray behind leaders who delay the prayer."He struck my thigh a blow that hurt me and said, "I asked Abu Dharr about that, and he struck my thigh and said, 'I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that, and he replied, "Pray the prayer at its proper time, and make your prayer with them a voluntary one."'"Abdullah said, "It was mentioned to me that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ struck Abu Dharr's thigh."
و حدثني أبو غسان المسمعي حدثنا معاذ وهو ابن هشام حدثني أبي عن مطر
قلت لعبد الله بن الصامت نصلي يوم الجمعة خلف أمراء فيؤخرون الصلاة قال فضرب فخذي ضربة أوجعتني وقال سألت أبا ذر عن ذلك فضرب فخذي وقال سألت رسول الله ﷺ عن ذلك فقال صلوا الصلاة لوقتها واجعلوا صلاتكم معهم نافلة قال و قال عبد الله ذكر لي أن نبي الله ﷺ ضرب فخذ أبي ذر
