Alqama led us in the noon prayer and prayed five units. When he gave the closing salutation, the people said, "Abu Shibl, you have prayed five."He replied, "No, I did not."They said, "Yes, you did."I was at the edge of the gathering, still a young boy, and I said, "Yes, you prayed five."He said to me, "You too, one-eyed boy, you say that?"I answered, "Yes."So he turned, performed two prostrations, then gave the closing salutation. Then he said, Abdullah said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer and prayed five units. When he turned away, the people began whispering among themselves. He asked, 'What is the matter with you?' They replied, 'Messenger of Allah, has anything been added to the prayer?' He said, 'No.' They said, 'But you prayed five.' So he turned, performed two prostrations, then gave the closing salutation. Then he said, 'I am only a human being like you. I forget just as you forget.'"Ibn Numayr added in his version, "So when one of you forgets, let him perform two prostrations."
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة واللفظ له حدثنا جرير عن الحسن بن عبيد الله
صلى بنا علقمة الظهر خمسا فلما سلم قال القوم يا أبا شبل قد صليت خمسا قال كلا ما فعلت قالوا بلى قال وكنت في ناحية القوم وأنا غلام فقلت بلى قد صليت خمسا قال لي وأنت أيضا يا أعور تقول ذاك قال قلت نعم قال فانفتل فسجد سجدتين ثم سلم ثم قال قال عبد الله صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ خمسا فلما انفتل توشوش القوم بينهم فقال ما شأنكم قالوا يا رسول الله هل زيد في الصلاة قال لا قالوا فإنك قد صليت خمسا فانفتل ثم سجد سجدتين ثم سلم ثم قال إنما أنا بشر مثلكم أنسى كما تنسون وزاد ابن نمير في حديثه فإذا نسي أحدكم فليسجد سجدتين
