Musab bin Saad bin Abu Waqqas reported,

I bowed and placed my hands like this, meaning he joined his palms together and placed them between his thighs. Ubayy said, "We used to do this, then we were instructed to place our hands on the knees."

عن مصعب بن سعد قال

ركعت فقلت بيدي هكذا يعني طبق بهما ووضعهما بين فخذيه فقال أبي قد كنا نفعل هذا ثم أمرنا بالركب
