The delegation of Abdul-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, we are from the tribe of Rabia, and the disbelievers of Mudar stand between us and you, so we cannot reach you except during the sacred month. Give us a command we can act upon and call those behind us to follow."He said, "I command you with four things and forbid you from four. Believe in Allah." Then he explained it to them, saying, "Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the prayer, paying the zakat, and giving up a fifth of whatever spoils you obtain. And I forbid you from the dubba, the hantam, the naqir, and the muqayyar."Khalaf added in his narration, "Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah," and he held up one finger.
حدثنا خلف بن هشام حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أبي جمرة قال سمعت ابن عباس ح و حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى واللفظ له أخبرنا عباد بن عباد عن أبي جمرة
قدم وفد عبد القيس على رسول الله ﷺ فقالوا يا رسول الله إنا هذا الحي من ربيعة وقد حالت بيننا وبينك كفار مضر فلا نخلص إليك إلا في شهر الحرام فمرنا بأمر نعمل به وندعو إليه من وراءنا قال آمركم بأربع وأنهاكم عن أربع الإيمان بالله ثم فسرها لهم فقال شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله وإقام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة وأن تؤدوا خمس ما غنمتم وأنهاكم عن الدباء والحنتم والنقير والمقير زاد خلف في روايته شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وعقد واحدة
