Umar said to Saad, "The people have complained about you in everything, even regarding the prayer."Saad replied, "As for me, I prolong the first two units and shorten the last two, and I spare no effort in following the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Umar said, "That is what is thought of you," or, "That is what I thought of you."
و حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا شعبة عن أبي عون قال سمعت
قال عمر لسعد قد شكوك في كل شيء حتى في الصلاة قال أما أنا فأمد في الأوليين وأحذف في الأخريين وما آلو ما اقتديت به من صلاة رسول الله ﷺ فقال ذاك الظن بك أو ذاك ظني بك
