The people of Kufa complained about Saad to Umar bin Khattab, mentioning something concerning his prayer. Umar sent for him, and when he arrived, Umar told him what they had criticized regarding his prayer.Saad replied, "I lead them in prayer just as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed, without falling short of it. I prolong the first two units and shorten the last two."Umar said, "That is what I expected of you, Abu Ishaq."
حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى أخبرنا هشيم عن عبد الملك بن عمير
أن أهل الكوفة شكوا سعدا إلى عمر بن الخطاب فذكروا من صلاته فأرسل إليه عمر فقدم عليه فذكر له ما عابوه به من أمر الصلاة فقال إني لأصلي بهم صلاة رسول الله ﷺ ما أخرم عنها إني لأركد بهم في الأوليين وأحذف في الأخريين فقال ذاك الظن بك أبا إسحق
