Ibn Abbas commented on the verse "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it" [Qiyamah 75:16], saying that the Prophet ﷺ used to endure great strain when revelation came down, and he would move his lips.Ibn Abbas said to me, "I will move my lips just as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to move his."Then Saeed said, "I will move mine just as Ibn Abbas used to move his," and he moved his lips.So Allah, the Exalted, revealed, "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it. Upon Us is its gathering and its recitation" [Qiyamah 75:16–17]. Ibn Abbas explained, "Its gathering in your heart, so that you may then recite it." As for "So when We recite it, follow its recitation" [Qiyamah 75:18], he said, "That is, listen and be silent, and then it is upon Us that you recite it."He said, So whenever Jibreel came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would listen, and once Jibreel departed, the Prophet ﷺ would recite it just as Jibreel had recited it to him.
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا أبو عوانة عن موسى بن أبي عائشة
عن ابن عباس في قوله {لا تحرك به لسانك لتعجل به} قال كان النبي ﷺ يعالج من التنزيل شدة كان يحرك شفتيه فقال لي ابن عباس أنا أحركهما كما كان رسول الله ﷺ يحركهما فقال سعيد أنا أحركهما كما كان ابن عباس يحركهما فحرك شفتيه فأنزل الله تعالى {لا تحرك به لسانك لتعجل به إن علينا جمعه وقرآنه} قال جمعه في صدرك ثم تقرؤه {فإذا قرأناه فاتبع قرآنه} قال فاستمع وأنصت ثم إن علينا أن تقرأه قال فكان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أتاه جبريل استمع فإذا انطلق جبريل قرأه النبي ﷺ كما أقرأه
