We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, and we entered the state of consecration for Umrah. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him should enter the state of consecration for Hajj along with Umrah, and should not leave that state until he has completed both together."Aisha continued, "I arrived in Makkah while I was menstruating, so I did not perform the circuits around the House, nor between Safa and Marwa. I complained about this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, 'Undo your hair, comb it, enter the state of consecration for Hajj, and set aside the Umrah.'"She said, "So I did that. When we had completed the Hajj, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me with Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr Siddiq to Taneem, and I performed Umrah. He said, 'This is in place of your Umrah.'"Those who had entered the state of consecration for Umrah performed the circuits around the House and between Safa and Marwa, then left that state. Afterwards they performed another circuit, once they had returned from Mina, for their Hajj. But those who had entered the state of consecration for Hajj alone, or who had combined Hajj and Umrah, performed only a single circuit.
حدثني يحيى عن مالك عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ عام حجة الوداع فأهللنا بعمرة ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ من كان معه هدي فليهلل بالحج مع العمرة ثم لا يحل حتى يحل منهما جميعا قالت فقدمت مكة وأنا حائض فلم أطف بالبيت ولا بين الصفا والمروة فشكوت ذلك إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال انقضي رأسك وامتشطي وأهلي بالحج ودعي العمرة قالت ففعلت فلما قضينا الحج أرسلني رسول الله ﷺ مع عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر الصديق إلى التنعيم فاعتمرت فقال هذا مكان عمرتك فطاف الذين أهلوا بالعمرة بالبيت وبين الصفا والمروة ثم حلوا منها ثم طافوا طوافا آخر بعد أن رجعوا من منى لحجهم وأما الذين كانوا أهلوا بالحج أو جمعوا الحج والعمرة فإنما طافوا طوافا واحدا
