Umar bin Khattab, while circling the Kaaba, said to the Black Corner, "You are only a stone. Had I not seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kiss you, I would not kiss you." Then he kissed it.

أن عمر بن الخطاب قال وهو يطوف بالبيت للركن الأسود إنما أنت حجر ولولا أني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ قبلك ما قبلتك ثم قبله
