The Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to go into spiritual retreat, and when he went to the place where he intended to make it, he found tents there, the tent of Ayesha, the tent of Hafsa, and the tent of Zaynab. When he saw them he asked about them, and he was told, this is the tent of Ayesha, and of Hafsa, and of Zaynab.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Is it righteousness that you intend by them?" Then he turned away and did not make the retreat until he made a retreat of ten days in Shawwal.
حدثني زياد عن مالك عن ابن شهاب عن عمرة بنت عبد الرحمن
أن رسول الله ﷺ أراد أن يعتكف فلما انصرف إلى المكان الذي أراد أن يعتكف فيه وجد أخبية خباء عائشة وخباء حفصة وخباء زينب فلما رآها سأل عنها فقيل له هذا خباء عائشة وحفصة وزينب فقال رسول الله ﷺ آلبر تقولون بهن ثم انصرف فلم يعتكف حتى اعتكف عشرا من شوال
