Whoever performs wudu and does it well, then sets out deliberately for the prayer, is considered to be in prayer for as long as he is heading toward it. For one of his steps a good deed is recorded for him, and by the other a sin is erased from him. So when one of you hears the iqamah, let him not run, for the greatest of you in reward is the one whose house is farthest away.They asked, "Why is that, Abu Hurairah?"He replied, "Because of the great number of steps."
و حدثني عن مالك عن نعيم بن عبد الله المدني المجمر أنه
من توضأ فأحسن وضوءه ثم خرج عامدا إلى الصلاة فإنه في صلاة ما دام يعمد إلى الصلاة وإنه يكتب له بإحدى خطوتيه حسنة ويمحى عنه بالأخرى سيئة فإذا سمع أحدكم الإقامة فلا يسع فإن أعظمكم أجرا أبعدكم دارا قالوا لم يا أبا هريرة قال من أجل كثرة الخطا
