Two men from Ashja reported,

Muhammad bin Maslama Ansari used to come to them as a collector of zakat and would say to the owner of the property, "Bring out to me the zakat due on your property." And no one ever led to him a sheep that covered what he owed without his accepting it.

و حدثني عن مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد عن محمد بن يحيى بن حبان أنه قال

أخبرني رجلان من أشجع

أن محمد بن مسلمة الأنصاري كان يأتيهم مصدقا فيقول لرب المال أخرج إلي صدقة مالك فلا يقود إليه شاة فيها وفاء من حقه إلا قبلها
