There were two men in Madinah, one of whom dug graves with a side niche and the other of whom did not. The people said, "Whichever of the two arrives first will do his own kind of work." The one who dug with a side niche arrived first, so he dug a grave with a side niche for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
و حدثني عن مالك
كان بالمدينة رجلان أحدهما يلحد والآخر لا يلحد فقالوا أيهما جاء أول عمل عمله فجاء الذي يلحد فلحد لرسول الله ﷺ
