Hisham bin Urwa reported,

I never saw my father at a funeral except walking in front of the bier. He would then go to Baqi and sit there until the people passed by him.

ما رأيت أبي قط في جنازة إلا أمامها قال ثم يأتي البقيع فيجلس حتى يمروا عليه
