I came to Ayesha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, when the sun was eclipsed. The people were standing in prayer, and she too was standing in prayer.I asked, "What is the matter with the people?"She pointed with her hand toward the sky and said, "Glory be to Allah."I said, "Is it a sign?"She nodded with her head to say yes.She said, "So I stood praying until faintness overcame me, and I began to pour water over my head."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praised Allah and glorified Him, and said, "There is nothing I had not seen before which I have not now seen from this place where I stand, even Paradise and the Fire. And it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in the graves with a trial like, or close to, the trial of Dajjal." I do not know which of the two words Asma said. "One of you will be brought and asked, 'What did you know about this man?' As for the believer, or the one certain in faith," I do not know which of the two Asma said, "he will say, 'He is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. He came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we responded, believed, and followed him.' He will be told, 'Sleep in peace. We already knew that you were a believer.' But as for the hypocrite, or the doubter," I do not know which of the two Asma said, "he will say, 'I do not know. I heard people saying something, so I said it too.'"
حدثني يحيى عن مالك عن هشام بن عروة عن فاطمة بنت المنذر
أتيت عائشة زوج النبي ﷺ حين خسفت الشمس فإذا الناس قيام يصلون وإذا هي قائمة تصلي فقلت ما للناس فأشارت بيدها نحو السماء وقالت سبحان الله فقلت آية فأشارت برأسها أن نعم قالت فقمت حتى تجلاني الغشي وجعلت أصب فوق رأسي الماء فحمد الله رسول الله ﷺ وأثنى عليه ثم قال ما من شيء كنت لم أره إلا قد رأيته في مقامي هذا حتى الجنة والنار ولقد أوحي إلي أنكم تفتنون في القبور مثل أو قريبا من فتنة الدجال لا أدري أيتهما قالت أسماء يؤتى أحدكم فيقال له ما علمك بهذا الرجل فأما المؤمن أو الموقن لا أدري أي ذلك قالت أسماء فيقول هو محمد رسول الله جاءنا بالبينات والهدى فأجبنا وآمنا واتبعنا فيقال له نم صالحا قد علمنا إن كنت لمؤمنا وأما المنافق أو المرتاب لا أدري أيتهما قالت أسماء فيقول لا أدري سمعت الناس يقولون شيئا فقلته
